The winners of the Gents Stroke Play Championship held on Sunday 6th September were as follows:
1st Scratch Kevin Duffy 75/70 - 145
2nd Scratch Michael Horne 73/73 - 146
3rd Scratch David Marshall 74/75 - 149

2nd Scratch Michael Horne
3rd Scratch David Marshall
1st Handicap Kevin Duffy
2nd Handicap David Finnie
3rd Handicap Michael Horne
There were 16 twos at £4.75 per two.
Well done to Kevin Duffy on his first major win. A very good second round of level par 70 after his opening 75 was enough to see off Mike Horne who was the definition of steady with two rounds of 73 leaving our current club champion Dave Marshall to add another podium finish to a very good season for himself.
A quick word on Ian Duguid who experienced the highs and lows that golf has to offer all on the same day. The 8 handicapper got off to a tough start shooting an 88 in the first round, there may have been some quite negative emotions during the round and at lunch but somehow he managed to clear all that and went on to shoot a superb 3 under par 67 (nett 59). It just goes to show that no matter how bad you may think things are that next great round may be just around the corner. Well done Ian.
Senior Gents Stableford Davidson Trophy Wednesday 9th September 2015, Yellow Tees, Murrayfield
Results of the Seniors Men's Stableford (Davidson Trophy) played on Wed 9th Sept.
1st Alastair Shields (15) 42
2nd Alex Sneddon (11) 39 (bih)
3rd Anthony Vettraino (17) 39
Great to see so many people playing some of their best golf of the season. A great round from Alastair breaking the hallowed "40 stableford point's barrier" with 42 points. Another great round from the evergreen Alex Sneddon who with nothing worse than a 5 on his card recorded his lowest competition score at Murrayfield this year (gross 77). Well done also to Tony Vettraino who I have seen out on the course quite a lot lately that practice seems to paying off Tony - well done!
Brian Harman has Aces galore!
Talk about hogging the aces.... not in a poker sense but having two hole in one's in one round is something special! He is the third person to do it ever on tour.
Harman said: "It's pretty crazy to play a hundred-some-odd tournaments and never have one, but to have two in the same tournament is pretty awesome."
