Putter Fitting Day - 22 August 11am-3pm
We will be holding our own putter fitting day with brands including Odyssey, PING, TaylorMade and Wilson.
The importance of a putter fitting
We hold lots of fitting days for the leading manufacturers for all the clubs and we also have fitted many of our members for clubs, but putter fittings are still something new to people we've found.
Remember we offer a FREE fitting with any new putter. We recognise the importance in having the right equipment. You need to trust it so that you can then put a good stroke on the putt.
Virtually every Tour player is fitted individually to their putter, but almost no amateur players do that! The average height of a PGA Tour player today is 6' and he uses a 33.5 inch putter on average. You guys are using a 35 inch putter on average because that is the "standard" putter. A properly fit putter will allow you to set up with your hips over your ankles, your hands under your shoulders with a little bend in the elbows and your eyes over the ball.
Please call up or click here to book your 30 minute fitting appointment.
As you probably have seen now, PING have announced two new irons for 2015. The GMax and new i series look stunning and we have ordered them into the shop. They have just been delivered so make sure you take a look at them the next time you are down the Club... They really are something else!

Impressive golf from Stephen and Ian who were out in front with their 44 points! Jack holds his form from the charity day and takes second place with his partner Gordon. Simon and Bill tied for second but hold third place on count back from the other teams tied on 41 points. Well done guys, it was a great day for golf and it seemed lots of people were making the most of it!

Scratch:
1st Andrew R Ni(0) 73
2nd David J Marshall(2) 73
3rd Adam Smith(14) 73
Incredible round by Adam!! Nett 59 is rarely achieved off a teen handicap, very well played, I expect to see you in single figures in no time. Paul and Gareth both had great nett scores usually worthy of a top place but second is still good, well done guys. Andrew narrowly takes the lowest round of count back from Dave and Adam.

Ladies weekend Stableford Saturday 8th August
1st Louise A Duff(16) 40
2nd Rosie E Dennis(9) 38
3rd Susan J Beattie(33) 37
Very good round of golf by Louise and that brings her down nicely to a 15 handicap now. Rosie also has a good round that drops her down to 8. Third place was hotly contested with 4 players tied but Susie managed to beat them on count back.
Pro Member Challenge Matches
The leaderboard is still headed by Mike, Vinit, Ian and Jonnie but can anyone take them off the No.1 spot? Second place is jammed right now with 3 teams at 65 points. With lots of teams booked in into October, surely someone can beat 73 points! It's not too late, get your team together and book a date in the diary to have your go!
Pro/Member Challenge 2015 - Current Leaderboard
Mike Marwick Vinit Khurana Ian Wales Jonnie 73
Ian Murdoch Willie McGibbon Alastair Shields Iain 65
Anne McMenigall Marina Evans Fiona Hamilton Iain 65
With many games lined up watch the leaderboard, it will change dramatically. Will Mike, Vinit, Ian and Jonnie still be there at the end of the year?! (Duncan and Iain hope not!!)
