Coronavirus update
To all our members and customers. These are unusual times and there is a lot of concern in the world. Whilst some of us have been advised to isolate from others, we are aware that playing golf is not only great for our physical health but also our mental health, particularly at times of raised anxiety. Therefore until we are instructed otherwise we think that playing golf should continue, with reasonable precautions taken; 1) Remain over 6 feet from your playing partners 2) Do not touch the flags 3) Rake bunkers with your club or foot as best you can 4) Do not touch other people’s equipment 5) Consider sanitising your equipment now and after each round 6) Do not shake hands 7) Sanitise or wash your hands regularly and always after your game. 8) Come to the club ready to play golf so and leave after your round if you prefer not to enter the building This advice is in line with government recommendations and the governing bodies’ guidelines including R&A, PGA & Scottish Golf. It is our intention that the Pro Shop will remain open, although it may be with reduced hours at times and extra precautions, such as: 1) We ask that members maintain safe distances from others and please do not come to the club or shop if you have any of the symptoms of coronavirus. 2) All staff will regularly wash and sanitise their hands and are made aware not to touch their faces. 3) Any staff showing signs of being unwell will be off for 7 days, or if they have any family in their household who are unwell, will be told to remain away from the club for at least 14 days from the start of their symptoms. 4) We will be reducing the number of staff on at any one time to limit the contact they have with each other and the public. 5) Staff are advised not to travel on public transport where possible. 6) Anyone entering the club will be advised to wash or sanitise their hands. 7) Surfaces will be wiped down after use with anti-bacterial sanitiser or wipes. 8) Anyone who is in the vulnerable group, as defined by the government, is advised to not enter the clubhouse. 9) Anyone who wishes to play golf but not enter the clubhouse should get any equipment from the locker rooms ASAP. 10) We encourage any payments to be made via contactless payments or card. 11) All card payment machines will be wiped down after each use. 12) All door handles will be wiped with sanitiser regularly.
We have wiped down all surfaces and equipment so far so that the shop is in the most hygienic state we could possibly have it in.
