WGC Bridgestone Invitation - Firestone GC
Rory McIlroy closed with a stunning 66 to win the WGC event by two shots from Sergio Garcia on 15 under par. The win takes him back to number 1 in the world rankings. Sergio who shot 61 earlier in the week with 8 birdies on the back 9 holes moves up to number 3 in the rankings.

These tickets were awarded to Murrayfield Golf Club from the SGU in recognition of all the work we have done in: -
- developing and supporting our junior section over the past few years and
- increase our membership over the past year
The tickets have been issued to Murrayfield Golf Club on the strict understanding that they are used to support our strategies to continue to develop our Junior Section and maintain and develop our membership base.
All the proceeds from the raffle will be targeted at improving and developing practice areas, coaching, strength and conditioning and golf psychology for the benefit of Members of the Club.
Once the information is received by the SGU, they will post the tickets out individually to the named recipient. As per the terms and conditions, the tickets are non transferable without prior arrangement, not available for resale and must be used by the named recipient. Each ticket will be posted to the named recipient via recorded delivery and must be signed for.

It was short lived at the top for Iain, Carol, Linda and Liz, after one week at the top they have bowed out to a very impressive score of 74 points. This is now a new Pro’s Challenge Match record score, it was somewhat help by the gross 63 that Jonnie shot, although most of the points came from the team members and their efforts.

The package Iain delivered was made up of individual lessons on long game, wedge play, short game and bunker play and culminated with a playing round. Each lesson consisted of initial discussion and my perceived problem areas followed by observation of my shot striking. Iain’s subsequent analysis of faults and suggestions for change resulted in noticeable improvements in each are of play that was covered. "Hi Jonnie, Iain and Duncan
I had not been feeling comfortable with my driver since returning to golf following my accident, after which I couldn’t play golf for 18 months. I also wanted to add a three wood into my bag, so I booked to go on the Taylor Made demo fitting day at Murrayfield Golf Club.
I selected two clubs on the advice of Jonnie and his team following the fitting and when I returned from holiday they were ready for me to play with. I picked them up on the Saturday and then went straight into the Ravelston Ladies Championship the next week. What a difference they made! I estimate I gained up to 40 yards using the two clubs together and found I was reaching greens in two and having to chip onto greens where before I would be hitting a mid iron.
The problem was being in unfamiliar territory during the championship and having to rethink what clubs I had to play. However as my short game was up to the challenge it was a rewarding experience as I won the championship thanks to the extra distance and my wonderful caddie! Thank you so much for the information that resulted in the purchase. I had resolved myself to my handicap going up but now I want to try and knock three or four shots off it this next year, and feel that this will be possible.
