Jonnie plays in the Duddingston 36-Hole Challenge!
After the first round with only a handful of groups to come in Jonnie was lying 1st with a great round of golf (scorecard below). After the end of play he was lying just one back from the leaders on -3
The second round did not start so well and in strong winds Jonnie finished 2 over for the round, 1 under for the event and a respectable but disappointing tied 8th.

Ever thought of putting lessons? Why Not?
Here is what one of our new lady members, Jane Spencer, thought of a putting lesson that came around after a chat with me in the shop:
“I joined Murrayfield this year having been at my previous club 28 years. After chatting with Jonnie in the shop about putting an putters I settled on a new putter and enjoyed my free lesson that came with it. Putting has always been my Achilles heel in golf - 11 handicap and can usually get to the greens in 2 or 3, but then regularly come off with 6, particularly in qualifiers. Jonnie identified my yip problem, changed my grip entirely and my thought process which no other pro (& I have tried a few!) has identified over the years. For the first time ever, I am now actually enjoying putting and feel at last I know & feel what I should be doing. Consequently, having gone up to 11.5 (12) - the following week I came down to 10.7 and had 35 putts in a medal round - Unheard of for me. This has made a massive improvement in my enjoyment of the game, which at several points over the years I have considered quitting. Putting lessons are definitely worth it as there is much more to it than you think - it is the most used club in the bag and the one that gets you your final score. Jonnies expertise and friendly manner works wonders!!”
