Our eight man squad of Andrew Ni, Eric McIntosh, Cammy Whyte, Bobby Gibson, Robb Hawthorn, Patrick Lawrence, Stuart Thurlow and Sam Goldsmith have made us proud by getting into the final in Spain which they are playing today Thursday 10th March. 

Once again we'd want to say a HUGE thank you to Jackie Thurlow, one of our junior convenors, who has undertaken the massive tasks of organising our trip to Spain for the entire team and what a success it has been out there!

The Championship has grown into one of the biggest and most prestigious junior team tournaments in the world. It is the only one in the British Isles and Ireland and is supported by the R&A, the four national golf unions and the Golf Foundation.

More than 1300 clubs with 650,000 members - over half of the UK's and Ireland's clubs - compete each year engaging an estimated 80,000 youngsters.

Sky TV will broadcast highlights from the event later in the year. Other clubs competing are Hallamshire and Burhill (England); Kilkenny and Tandragee (Ireland); The Vale of Glamorgan and Green Meadow (Wales).

Men's Texas Scramble Competition 5th March

It was a good turn out on Saturday for this fun event, we had 12 team entered.

Results:

1st- Duncan McLeod, Robert Kaye, Ian Gibson & Stuart Longair- 55.4 (£12 each)
2nd- George McIntosh, Martin Shepherdson, Alastair Dodds & Phil Sawrey- 55.9 (£8 each)
3rd- Alan Drummon, James Laidlaw, Ronnie Bertram & Daniel Bertram- 56 (£4 each)

Well done to all who entered, it was close for the top 3 teams with just 0.6 separating them! Well done Duncan, Robert, Ian and Stuart on winning this event, you're off to a good start in the year!




Mail on Sunday Ladies result

Caroline Steedman's words about their match: 

Result was a 3-2 win. Special mention to Debbie who had the rough end of the deal giving away 15 shots; so a well-earned win there. Caroline J had the biggest margin with a 6&5 win & although Louise & Marie lost their matches, the games were closely contended.

That then left me, at no.5, needing to win my match. Successfully done on the 17th.....phew. All the matches were played in a friendly & competitive manner, bring on the next round.

Men's Team Match v Ravelston

Stephen Stuart's words about their match:

On Sunday the 6th March the Men took part in the daily Mail classic against our close neighbours Ravelston. We were represented by Stephen Stuart, Chris Stuart, Bob Yardley, David Douglas and Norman Gregor a fine victory of 3 - 2 was recorded and we now move into the 3rd round. I would like to thank Ravelston for their hospitality and the guys giving up there time on Mother's day.
