We've just had in the new TaylorMade Aero Burner range, designed to help you hit it long and straight more often. An improved Speed Pocket and a more aerodynamic head makes this white driver both long and forgiving.
That's not the only new arrival. In addition, we've also just had the brand new TaylorMade R15. It features an even lower and more forward centre of gravity than the SLDR to reduce spin further for longer distance and better accuracy.
Drop by the pro shop and take a look and them both, or better still click here to book a fitting on either of these brand new drivers!
Patrick Lawrence win's the best new year present!

‘Ball unplayable’
Everybody has encountered this situation, they hit a good or bad shot only to see the ball finish in a near impossible hitting position. Usually this is met with an outcry of ‘why does this always happen to me!’
It’s just one of those unlucky moments in life, could be Karma or just not your lucky day! You need to remember that you always have decisions to make. It’s far too easy to just grab a club out the bag, waft it at the ball and advance it an inch... sound familiar? We've all been there!
Usually it’s best to take time to breathe and weigh up your options, then ask yourself, ‘is it worth taking a penalty drop here?'
Definition:
‘The player may deem his/her ball unplayable at any place on the course, except when the ball is in a water hazard. The player is the sole judge as to whether the ball is unplayable’.
Under penalty of one stroke you now have 3 options:
- Play the ball as nearly as possible at the spot from where you last hit from
- Drop a ball behind the point where the ball lay, keeping that point directly between the hole and the spot which the ball is dropped, you can go as far back as you like before dropping the ball.
- Drop a ball within two club-lengths of where the ball is, no nearer to the hole.
Remember you can use this option in a bunker but you still have to drop it in the bunker, so let’s hope it’s a big one!
You can lift and clean the ball under this rule, so give yourself every advantage as possible when using this rule; it’s a good one to know.
