Club speed, ball speed & smash factor Club speed is the speed that the club is traveling through impact. What is surprising to see is that Sue is actually swing her new irons slightly slower however her ball speed and smash factor have increased significantly. Smash factor is calculated by dividing ball speed by club speed and relates to the amount of energy being transferred into the golf ball at impact. Launch angle, height & landing angle As you can see, Sue is able to launch the new Rogue irons much higher (Launch angle) leading to more height and her shots. This also leads to a better landing angle which will enable her to have more control on her shots into the greens as she will now be able to land the ball softly on the green with more spin rather than seeing her shots run over the back of the green. Carry & total distance Because Sue was able to achieve a better launch angle and total height with the new Rogue iron this resulted in an extra 11 yards carry and 8 extra yards in total. Booking in for a custom iron fitting is the key to maximizing your distance and increasing control on your approach shots to the green.
